Psychotherapist Lauren Newman

LAPC, MA, MEd

As a psychotherapist, I bring my insights and deep empathy, both lived and learned, into my work with clients. Before opening my private practice, I worked at an eating disorder PHP/IOP center, where I honed my skills in various therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Adult Sand-Tray Therapy.

My focus naturally centers on relationships – with partners, family, friends, and most importantly, with ourselves. The therapeutic approaches I utilize, Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), both emphasize accepting your present while making meaningful changes to move closer to your desired future. These changes occur relationally, strengthening your connection with yourself and with others. Living relationally means recognizing the importance of relationships, respecting your own needs and the needs of those around you, and cultivating healthier, more fulfilling interactions.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I love playing the drums in a rock and roll cover band.
